I just want to warn everyone about weber carbs direct. I ordered from them a while back & revieved a poor quality kit that is not a genuine spanish made carb. All the screws were loose when I recieved the kit, some screws & jets were chipped, the pump jet was poor quality with no indication of size & was scarred up. The manual choke mechanism was not like the genuine webers, it was bassiacally an electric choke with a cheap plastic manual choke conversion kit on it. The manifold had no brand logo on it & required a lot of grinding to fit. When I installed it, it always had a hesitation & was burning gray plugs no matter what I did & I did rejet it several times. I got ahold of a genuine spanish made weber with the exact same jetting, not one difference accept on was genuine & one was a knock off. The car ran amazing with the spanish one and I was able to tune with brown plugs and no hesitation at all. The weber carbs direct carb was just very poor quality. They're even made of a different metal it looks like. I emailed them about it & was ignored. I finally got a responce from them on ebays mail system & told them everything. I told them I had installed it, had it for a few months & had to grind the manifold. They said they would give me a full refund & to send it back to them after knowing the condition of it before hand. I ship it & it arrives the next day to weber carbs direct. After 4 days of being ignored & emails blown off they finally respon with this:
Hello. First things first. You did not purchase this thru Ebay so STOP emailing theru the Ebay mail system. Please send emails etc to sales@webercarbsdirect.com Next as per our returns manager this kit is in Un-sellable condtion. You will be issued NO refun and the kit is being returned to you.
They where very nasty to me after that. I called them after recieving this to figure out why things had suddenly changed & to figure out when I would get it back. once I told them who I was they hung up on me. I called back several times and they picked up, hung up then turned off there phone. I never got a reason other than the email above. I was ignored & hung up on some more after then 4 days after I finally got the kit back. Never got any shipping info either. I had told them in the email on ebay the condition of the kit & they still said they'd take it back, then things changed. Wouldnt have been a big deal if they had just said before hand that it was unsellable & no refund is possible. Not make me take it off the car, pay to ship it back then get it back a week later with no answers. They we're very rude & nasty & if you read the feedback on ebay Im not the only one. I just wanted to warn everyone & share my experience, anyone else have this happen to them?

that sucks...
I would think that you have a case to get your shipping back as they said to send it back after you told them the condition it was in before they told you to send it back.
truthfully i am suprised they even said to send it back knowing that you had ground it down (usually you can make it fit by grinding the dimppels off of the mounting clips...but i have heard that some of the points on the castings have to be removed to get it to fit in between the runners of the exhaust.
about a year ago i bought a rebuild kit and accel. pump from them and had a smooth transaction, but i just ordered the parts i needed via the website, never had to talk to anyone there.
hope you can atleast get your shipping charges back or maybe work a deal with them to just take the carb back as that hadn't been altered.
good luck,
~B

Shane, if you believe your item was not as described, open up a dispute through Ebay and then Paypal. Paypal will cover your loss if they refuse, and make sure that you include all details in your dispute.
*edit* I was going to suggest that you open a dispute as a "counterfeit" item with the manifold not being an apparent genuine part (I don't remember having more than "cannon" stamped on mine) but the listings I see say nothing about the manifold being a cannon one. Or the choke adaptor being a weber one for that matter.
I recommend Redline Weber for your online weber needs, they referred me to a company that was a distributor who had a good reputation for low shipping costs to Canada.
