I'm selling a 1967 Triumph Spitfire MkII. Considerably rarer (and better looking) that later model Spitfires.

I originally purchased the car in Michigan in 2001. I've done quite a bit of work on it, but it still needs more, as all British cars do. The car has many of it's original parts, including the original SU Carbeurators, generator, removeable hard top and soft top. The car just had a valve job and all new gaskets in the engine. Brake calipers/drums recently refurbished. Brake and clutch master cylinders recently rebuilt. Clutch slave cylinder needs replaced. Car starts & runs.

The bodywork is ok. The passenger side door is mostly bondo and has been that way since I bought it.

I wouldn't consider the car a great candidate for a full restoration, though the rarity of these cars is driving up the value significantly as of late and a full restoration may be fiscally sound in a few years. In the current market, if you can find a Mark I or Mark II Spitfire in excellent condition it would go for around $15,000. Personally, I would recommend using the car as an around town drive. It's incredibly fun and I get tons of looks, thumbs up, and comments everywhere I take it. Not a show car, but a beautifully-styled car that people appreciate. It's also a simple car to work on and is a great learning platform for a do-it-yourself-er or high schooler. This is the car I learned on.
