"Scarlett"

My baby Scarlett, Got her a couple months ago from one of the Knights of Columbus I go to Church with. Nice fellow, couldn't really drive it anymore due to hip problems and the fact that he was moving for a job. I've been looking for a classic British two door (specifically a spitfire or midget) for ages and this one came along. Scarlett wasn't driven regularly since last registered in 98',but she was garage kept. she was moved before that but not driven or even started for six years. My friend and I got her running and I drove her home. I've been restoring since. Fuel pump just went out but I have one on the way, other than that she Runs like a champ. I am 18 and very new to restoration but I do everything myself with plenty of questions to the club guys.

Running list of repairs: re-tuned carb, Rebuilt clutch pedal mechanism, rebuilt clutch master cylinder, all new lines all the way around (fuel lines, coolant lines, heater lines, etc) boy was that a job, Stick shift mechanism taken apart cleaned and reassembled, Timing redone (distributor cap, plugs, plug wires, points, etc...), Tail lights replaced, and of course all fluids changed. Still have a ton left to do.

James, do you plan on ever going back to the original color or are you keeping it red?
Comment by James Laraia at 2012-04-10 10:38:27
You know I love red, I wasn't super fond of the mallard but then again I've only seen it in
photos. Normally I would say green is overrated but its a seemingly rare color. When I get
it painted in the next year or so I'll have two spots sprayed to test the colors.
