Hi everyone, I'm popping over from the MG experience to ask a couple of questions about my father-in-laws '73 Triumph Stag.

He picked it up from a guy who had in in storage. The original engine was included in the sale (condition unknown), but it had a 327 Chevy engine installed. The exterior is good and the interior is in excellent condition. The engine in it runs, but the gas tank needs to be cleaned or replaced. In true rednek form, I think a guy put an intake in that does not allow the hood to close. The brake system is missing the master cyclinder.

I'm trying to convince hime to get rid of this since he has two more promising projects (please don't take offense) in a '73 MGB and a '52 MGTD.

I don't know too much about Stags, other than the original engines are a piece of work. What do you guys think? Anyone interested?

Hmm, poorly done conversion, original motor is probably trashed (else why convert?). What does it have for transmission and rear axle?

I don't know much about current prices, but I think you'd be lucky to get even $5k for it. I've paid less (twice now) for Stags with running original engines.

I'm thinking without pics based on the description that 5k would be optimistic. Trying to put a dead stag engine right is an exercise in frustration and costs a small fortune. Kyle.
