Some information about me –

  • Just retired from the Air Force, I have owned my 1979 Triumph Spitfire for 11 years. It is not a frame off but it has had lots of love and knuckly breaking but love this car anyway.

Engine Being Removed

I am journaling my latest adventure in repairing the baby once again! My wife calls it a money sucker but I have had my baby longer than I have had her, hmmmm. Choices, ?? Anyway, my clutch lever pin kept falling out and then the clutch acted very funny to find out after removing the engine/transmission that the front cover (throw out bearing guide) was broken in two. I will attach some photos. Go to this link for removal and installation pictures. http://picasaweb.go...

Fan And Thermostat Replacement

I ordered a new fan and thermostat for the little Spitfire and changed it out last week. Took a little work but it came out nice. Also, every spring before the summer and hot weather hits I bypass the heater core so it doesn't get so hot in the car.

My spitfire is not a full restoration but I have put over $8,000 over the years. Yesterday I had to put a new clutch pin and sleeve. The old one fell out, don't ask how I don't know but I got it fix it again. Tonight I had to fix a leak for the coolant system. I had to change gaskets where the thermostat is. Not too bad.
