I am a superintendent at a golf course and a Jazz saxophonist... I find myself middle aged... kids are gone so now is the time to restore a classic.

Sun Visors Made Of Oak

Posted on: Saturday May 19, 2012

first attemp

Well even though some think its risky to have wood visors incase of an accident I think if I wipe out in my spitty I have bigger things to worry about. My old visors are completly wrotten so made some of oak. I re used the old brackets cutting off the outer rod just keeping the mounting and pivot part of the frame. I used a die grinder to put a slice up the new oak part then glued and slipped the flat part of the bracket into the crack.

The new Ford mags wheels make the spitfire look right at home parked amongst today's cars. The front end modification make it look more sporty in my opinion. Will start driving it for the first time later this week. Still a few odds and ends to do on the inside.

old and new

Well I installed my new lug bolts and wheel adapter today without any problems. I replaced the original lugs bolts (3/8) to larger 12 x 1.5 . With the adapters installed I can now install my 15 inch Ford Focus 4 x 108 bolt rims.

Door Panels Recovered..

Posted on: Tuesday April 24, 2012

old panel

I had to replace the old door panels because of rain damage. I made new ones out of maisonite or hard board. I had so much trouble with the original clips that I used black large head screws. I also replace the door handle grab for a half moon chrome handle from Home Hardware.
