Hood Repaired
Created on 2008-09-01 14:50:16
The last piece of sheetmetal to be worked on is the hood. There were two punched in areas close to the bulkhead end, and the front lip was also damaged. The hood is now repaired, and ready for some build primer and blocking. I should have taken a picture before I started, but looks like I forgot.

Trunk Lid Fit 3   The trunk lid also didn't fit quite right- zero gap at one point and non-flush surfaces at a couple more areas. So back with the hammer, grinder and filler. Now it all fits correct...
Tail Lights 3   The sheet metal around the tail lights didn't fit too well either- large gaps and the light frames don't sit flush to the body all around. After I filled and blended, the lights no...
Door Seams 6   After all the body panels were installed and the doors hung, I measured the gaps around the doors. They varied from approximately 1/8" to 3/8", and the door skins weren't flush to ...
Door Openings 5   Since things are already getting out of hand welding up all the body seams, I thought I would seal up the gap between the front fender and the inner fender (at the front edge of th...
Front Left Fender Completed 3   Whoo-hoo! I finished blending in the front left fender this weekend, and primed it after finishing. Things are starting to come together!
Fender Vents 6   To keep the heat down in the engine compartment, I am installing vents in the fenders. I like the portholes (ventiports) from the 61 Buicks, and after much searching, I have enough...
