Mirrors
Created on 2008-08-03 18:22:55
I don't mind the look of the stock mirrors, but they do leave a bit to be desired as far as viewing area. So I have been looking for alternatives. The current options are:
RX7: electric adjust, reasonable size, but kind of boxy/angular looking.
Miata: electric adjust, nice shape, but the mounting surface angle is incorrect.
3000GT: electric adjust, heated, correct mounting angle, too large
All of these options would offer electric adjustment, but will require reinforcing the door skin to prevent buckling. And the just don't look "right". I saw a couple cars with Harley Motorcycle mirrors. These have possibility- the are convex so they have a larger viewing area, nice chrome finish, and are mounted to the wind wing frame instead of the door skin, so the doors would be much cleaner.

| Door Seams | 2008-07-06 | 6 | After all the body panels were installed and the doors hung, I measured the gaps around the doors. They varied from approximately 1/8" to 3/8", and the door skins weren't flush to ... | |
| Door Openings | 2008-07-02 | 5 | Since things are already getting out of hand welding up all the body seams, I thought I would seal up the gap between the front fender and the inner fender (at the front edge of th... | |
