Rear Bumper Moldings

Took off the black over unders on the rear bumper, it looks so much better now. Still some work now to fill in the holes and re-chrome the bumper. But before that I will be installing new front shock absorbers (the current ones are showing signs of ageing). Also finished up the prep and repaint of the steering wheel and alligned the Triumph logo so its straight again. Over all a relatively productive Sunday.

Did some small touch ups on the Spit, still looking for a good place to get a repaint at a somewhat affordable price. Any help?

Hi Greg did you ever read about the rolled on paint jobs people are doing; go to
(rolled.forummotion.com) you can learn a lot about doing a paint job yourself a save a ton of
money plus get to say that you painted it yourself.

Just re-finished the wheels. They look as though they never had any rust on them. I will post some photos when I am able to pull it out of the garage, it has been raining for the last two days.

PURCHASE AND FIRST WORK

I HAVE PUT ON ABOUT 250 MILES SINCE I PURCHASED MY 1974 SPIT. SHE DRIVES GREAT, NO SLIPPING, NO BOGGING, SOUNDS GOOD, NOTHING COMING FROM THE REAR AND SEEMS MECHANICALLY SOUND. SHE HAS A NEW TOP, NEW SEATS AND CARPETING AND NEW REAR SPRINGS. THERE IS SOME RUST ON THE HEADERS AND I AM GUESSING THE REST OF THE EXHAUST AND SOME NEXT TO THE FIREWALL. I AM GOING TO TAKE OFF THE EXHAUST AND REMOVE THE RUST OR MAYBE BUILD A WHOLE NEW UNIT TO TAKE ITS PLACE. BUT FIRST I AM GOING TO CLEAN OUT THE CARB AND ENGINE WITH SEAFOAM, IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT STOPPED RAINING LONG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT AROUND, THEN I WILL REFINISH THE STEEL WHEELS. SECOND I AM GOING TO WORK ON THE EXHAUST AND RUST ISSUES ON THE FIREWALL. AFTER THAT WILL BE PAINTING THE VEHICLE. I AM GOING TO KEEP IT FRENCH BLUE SO SHE REMAINS STOCK. I AM GOING FOR A FULL ON STOCK LOOK BUT AM GOING TO TRY TO INCREASE THE HP BY MEANS OF EXHAUST AND MAYBE NEW CARB. I WILL TRY TO KEEP THIS UP EVERYTIME I DO SOMETHING AND IF ANYBODY HAS ANY TIPS FOR ME ON HOW TO DO ANY OF THIS OR THE BEST WAY TO GO ABOUT IT PLEASE E MAIL ME.
