Weber Conversion

Clyde Welsh usa — Posted on The MG Experience
Thursday February 1, 2007 7:29 AM
I just finished installing a new weber conversion kit on my car after attempting to rebuild SU's. Old carbs leaking fuel into intake manifold when ever fuel pump on adjusted floats as described no help, after a day of adjusting float, new needles were not moving properly tried old ones same problem.
Weber wasy an easy Install and adjustment.
So far I like the new weber.
Well drove car city and highway for 84.5 miles topped off with 3.7 gals. 22.8 MPG 8.8 MPG's better.
Guess old SU's were shot or needing a complete rebuild.

Front Shocks Installed Today

Clyde Welsh usa — Posted on The MG Experience
Saturday December 16, 2006 8:25 PM
Will I got the front shocks in this afternoon, most of the job was easy enough, however the Fulcrum bolts were removed after about a can of penetrating fluid and pounding with a hammer finally got them out said in the manual to tap out must have been using a bigger hammer (plus I'm sure 34+ years of wear and tear did not help.
What a difference before new shocks car bounced 2-3 times now not even one. I could not take out for a drive as it was cold and raining out, can't wait until tomorrow to see how it drives now.
I also replaced bushings with polyurethane bushings on the fulcrum and sway bar.
Next weekend if my new tie rod ends get here going to replace along with the wishbone bushings along with the rack seal. Forgot pictures had to take these with tyres on

72 front shocks finally had it checked and filled with oil no help too much bouncing so I ordered a set of rebuilt shocks, poly bushings all bolts and nuts to replace all the bushings on the shocks, A arm and upper trunion.
Hopefully I will have all the parts by next weekend so I can replace.
