Told ya about the show. Ran in to a little rain on the way at 6:00am in the morning, but the rainbow on the way across the 520 bridge over Lake Washington into Seattle was fantastic! Got a little wet, but heck, I had enough towels to start a small hotel. Arrived at the show, picked up my packet and found my parking spot between a 1949 Dodge Power Wagon and a 1948 Chevy pickup, both were sparten. The weather came around and the day turned out to be nice, warm and sunny. My little brother met me at the show and we headed off for a little bite to eat at the Pig and Whistle! After a cup of java and a bite, we headed off up and down Greenwood Ave to look at the fine automobiles - pics coming! Saw some Austin Healeys, Mini Coopers, not the new ones! Ford Cobras, etc., etc. Around 1:00pm I stopped back at the little red car, only to find that she had been picked as the first place Sports Car 1960+, yippee! Got to go up to the main stage area and pick up my beautiful 1st place plaque from Lance Lambert of the Vintage Car TV Show. How cool is that? We spent the reaminder of the day at my bro's place celebrating my little sisters birthday and sharing our day at the car show. What a blast! I don't know how to top this one, but I may have to get out to the shows more often. Nothing better than having someone besides me say they like our car! Till next time, take it out as much as you can. Ya know what I mean. CR.

Car Show

Well, I've been polishing and fixing and adding and cleaning and cleaning. The Greenwood Classic Car and Hot Rod Show is this weekend! Been a long time since this car has been around others that are sooooo clean. Mostly hot rods, but usually a few Brits. We have done this show a few times in recent years and it is always great fun, so many cars and people milling around the ave. The Chamber of Commerce closes down several blocks of Greenwood Avenue i Seattle and it is filled with cars down both sides. Folks just walk up and down the closed-off steets looking at the cars and part taking in the great eateries and pubs. The weather looks a little shakey, but it's supposed to be nice during the day with rain coming in late tomorrow evening. Hope to add some pics from the show!

The Beginning

It all started for me in high school! I fell in lust for the TR6. A friend's sister had just bought a brand new 1972 TR6 and we got to drive it! Not yet graduated from school, no job, no money, definitly no TR! It was years late after getting out of the service and finding work, that I was able to return to my lustfull ambition. My second car after earning enough cash to get a decent one was my 1974 TR6 w/overdrive. Kept her for about four years, then sold her reluctantly to pursue other dreams, such as my wife, skydiving, motorcycling, etc. Then in 1987, having just moved into a new home and having a little extra cash in my wallet, I started looking for another TR. I was very disappointed by what I saw. The condition of the TR's at that time were attrocious. I decided that there were no TR's left, at least in a condition that I could accept and bring back to life quickly! I made the decision to stop looking and just move on, when I drove by a used car lot and saw a pretty decent TR!! I kept driving, then thought I might as well look at it anyway, what the hell. I drove it and there was a clunking noise in the rear end that the lot owner could not explain. The car looked really good on the exterior and the interior was in decent shape as well. I offered him 2500.00 for the car and he accepted. The rest is now history and the car that is shown in my porfile is the same one I purchased in 1987. Everything is still working, the paint is the same, only little bits have been added, but this car runs like a dream and I pull it out of the garage on any nice day warm or cold!
