British Invade Gettysburg

Listed on sites: The MG ExperienceThe Triumph Experience
Event begins on July 11, 2010 at Gettysburg, PA
More information at: http://www.britishinvadegettysburg.com

The following is taken from the website:

HOW DID THE SHOW GET STARTED?

It was July of the year 2000 when Ralph Eriksen first had a vision. He was an active member in a number of British car clubs which had become his passion after he retired from the trucking industry. He loved the fun and relaxation of the car shows that he attended but recognized that unless you were an enthusiast of British cars or belonged to one of the car clubs, that most shows did not attract the general public because of the locations where they were held. The general public were missing out on feasting their eyes on some of the most magnificent cars that graced the shows. That is when he decided to approach a new era of the car show that not only added to the fun for the active enthusiest, but also the general public.

It was then that Ralph approached the Lanco MG Club to host the first " British Invade Gettysburg " at the popular Gettysburg Village Outlets. The attendance , right from the start, was GREAT !. The people attending loved the laid back atmosphere that the outlets provided and the women loved the added ability to shop during the event. It also recieved lots of attention from the local historic Gettysburg town, as the outlets drew increased numbers of the general public during the event.

The Lanco Club also saw through their vision to not just celebrate the British Car Industry but also to give back. Rather than have a judging show & hand out prizes to the registered cars, they were going to give back the monies and support the U.S. Marine Corps " Toys For Tots " campaign.

Now, every year the Marine Corps League program is recognized as they represent themselves in the main street Gazebo during the event. Show registrants are urged to drop a small toy in the collection barrel in the Gazebo. ( No wrapping needed.) Thus the motto " CHRISTMAS IN JULY "

Also adding to the days festivities is a local Scottish Bagpipe group who play their traditional music up and down main street at noon.

This event has become one of the most successful British car shows on the east coast and hopes to continue the rating in the years to come. "

SEE YOU AT THE SHOW

Awesome event and all around awesome weekend at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, Monterey. I've been attending for the past 7 years and I still can't get enough. Concorso is of course a celebration of Italian cars, but there is also a corral for other types of cars which is another car show in itself. The whole weekend is packed with vintage car races at Laguna Seca Raceway, Classic car auctions in downtown Monterey as well as the Pebble Beach Concours. If you're into cars, this is definitely without a doubt the ultimate weekend for you!

Ludwig's Corner Car Show

Event begins on September 06, 2010 at Ludwig's Corner, PA
More information at: http://www.ludwigshorseshow.org/Home/SpecialEvents/CarShow/tabid/89/Default.aspx

Here is an event that I am really excited about and would think it would be fun to get a good British car representation to attend. The Ludwig’s Corner Horse show is a 3 day event on Labor Day weekend that includes a car show on Labor Day Monday. Located near the corner of Routes 401 and 100 south of Pottstown, PA and east of Morgantown, PA The car sho event at the Horse Show is sponsored by the http://www.historicalcarclub.org/ How more British can you get than this? Steeple Chase with English style riders, Jack Russell Terriers all over and (hopefully) an invasion of British cars from the PA area british car Clubs with Empasis on MG's. There were a dozen or so British cars at this show last year which is open to cars of certain qualifications (age I think) per the Historical Car Club.

Well worth attending.
